Inside Jokes EP
Music - Jazz Pop
Inside Jokes is the flagship studio release for San Marcos based jazz-pop band Ooey Gooeys. The 5-song record was made at both Fire Station Studios in San Marcos, TX, and Breed Music in Deep Ellum, Tx. I was responsible for tracking, mixing, and producing every song on the record. This project has a special place in my heart, not only because it the first full length release I had ever mixed, but also because I play saxophone/keys in the band, and was featured on every song.

Max Frost Sessions
Music - Rock
These two tracks from a 2011 session with Austin musician Max Frost are meant to demonstrate a minimalist attitude toward tracking and mixing. Drums were recorded with the "Glyn Johns" method, using only three microphones, and almost every other part was recorded in one take. Due to Frost's 'one-man-band' style of songwriting and performance, I chose to approach the mix with a DIY style, and tried to leave it sounding polished but not over-processed.

Lab Recording Sessions
Music - Reggae Rock
San Marcos based 3-piece Reggae-rock band Kairos joined a Recording Techniques lab taught by Chris Bell at Fire Station Studios for a short recording session ran by the students of the lab. This single, Prophet, was recorded and over the next week the students competed to create the best mix that would win the artist's approval. After adding my own percussion, and tuning the vocals, my mix of Prophet was ultimately the one chosen by the artist.
